General Information

Text-Image Translator is an interactive website that translates words into abstracted images. Text that is input by users can be translated first into another language. Two different abstracted images will be generated based on the original text and the translated one through Internet image search results, image composition and processing.

Language and cultural barriers still exist even in such a globalized world. Languages, as the most perfect way of exchanging memory and thoughts, made them sharable and not sharable at the same time. Language is something really difficult to explain through itself, because it is connected with our feelings and cognition. One concept can arouse distinguish feelings in different languages. T-I Translator is not only a representation of this issue, but also an attempt to step over the barriers or gaps in languages and cultures. It creates the possibility to observe and understand the connections and differences through abstract images.

Collecting information from the Internet through Google search, T-I Translator is also a reflection of the relation of Internet culture and human cognition. In such a networked era, we are not only shaping the information but are also shaped by it.

Instructions

1.    Users can input and translate texts that contain one or multiple words in different languages. Then click the arrow to translate it and click the "Translate into Image" button. Motion images can be created with the "Create Video" button.

2.    Sometimes it takes longer to produce images, please be patient or you can refresh the webpage to stop processing.
